Seaport Tower

Seaport Tower is a mixed-use high-end residential tower in Boston's rapidly developing Seaport District.  The building design is one of the most formally dynamic in a city heavily rooted in traditional.  As a member of the team during conceptual and schematic design, this project provided me a unique opportunity to truly work with narrative and form-making -- two elements emphasized by the client in each and every design meeting.  Originally conceived as a series of sails held taught in the wind, this building attempts to reflect the identity of the seaport while remaining contextual and environmentally sensitive.

The public contribution in this project was important to the client, and many studies were performed to determine the best way to give space back to the street and the harbor.  This included detailed shadow and wind analyses performed internally and by outside consultants.  These plan drawings were produced by fellow team members at EMA.
