mood too
/Can’t help it, these are just so fun.
Simple bedroom, slightly sculpted, with a window to very far beyond.
But I really can’t say enough about how beautiful the finish is on these door knobs from Rocky Mountain Hardware. Pro Tip: If you are getting tired of your space and want to do something small to update your whole house at once, change out your door hardware! (Perhaps your doors too.)
Construction on the Bushel Collective kitchen/dining space has begun.
This is what is going on at my house! I don’t get paid for it, but it sure feels like work.
So much incredible work has been showcased at the Bushel space since it opened in the spring. This is Brian Chase from the Yeahyeahyeahs who performed a drum piece in collaboration with the art of Keti Kartvelli.
This lovely little addition to an 1820s farm house in Hobart, NY has gone up in a flash thanks to a truly professional building team. Never underestimate the power of good planning.
Making headway at Hortonville house. This old stone house is truly special. Every new detail is a joyful exercise in materials and aesthetics.
Snagged a certificate of occupancy last week for the new gallery/community space for the Bushel Collective. This image is from the opening event. It has been a journey to renovate this space and the results speak for themselves. I just love how the client wanted to mix the new with the old, providing a real place for real human beings. Excited to move on to the next phase -- the rest of the building!
Sometimes I make paint samples.
This wall, though. Cannot wait for the opening of #bushelcollective in May.
Simple house forms need study too. These are a few models for the design of a new hilltop house in Delhi/Hamden.
I was in the city recently and walked by the construction site at Hudson Yards, a big development project that I worked on while at Elkus Manfredi Architects in Boston. They would not let me wander on the construction site unfortunately (I tried), but I found some photos on the internet from the construction cam and got very excited. Full disclaimer, credit to hudsonyardsnewyork.com for this, but it is a great image.
Another beautiful barn with infinite potential and great clients. Upstate New York is littered with rustic outdoor dining rooms-to-be.
Work has begun on another commercial renovation in Delhi, 100 Main Street. These clients have a unique vision for their building, which eventually will house a series of fabrication/studio spaces and apartments, linked by a beautiful 150-year-old atrium.
Check out this incredible color for kitchen cabs….
Looks like future zen to me.
Sometimes the trial run does not turn out as expected. Currently working with a carpenter to fabricate custom kitchen cabinet pulls for a rustic-modern renovation in Callicoon, NY. Cast iron might be the next step…
